I Bet You Never Knew

Fixed and dazed in air
My mind wanders nowhere
I see our 'what could have been'
I begin to wonder where to begin

I don't know what to think
Thought I was focused but I'm scared
I saw one girl in my life where now it's two
I've never felt so unprepared

My veins don't know which way to flow
The blood goes this way and that
To fulfill the body, or for the heart to breathe
Leaving both behind where they're at

So I'll stop and stare
Try to live my life
Although I see two
Like a splitting knife
